An award-winning provider of Non-Destructive Testing apprenticeships is hosting a free webinar for industry professionals to show how they can take their career to the next level with the NDT Engineer Degree Apprenticeship.
The 45-minute webinar which is suitable for employees and employers, will take place on Thursday the 29th of July at 10am and will highlight the benefits of the programme, course content and how professionals can make the most of current funding incentives.
During the event, existing employers and apprentices will share their experiences and how the learning from the Apprenticeship is benefitting them.
Key benefits
The programmes key draws include the development of a broad spectrum of industry-leading technical expertise and the award of a BSc(Hons) in Non-Destructive Testing, NDT Level 3 qualification and the opportunity to register as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
The event is co-hosted by Skills Training UK, who was awarded ‘Apprenticeship Programme of the Year’ for their work within the sector, alongside their delivery partners University of Northampton and The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing.
Joe Morgan aged 31 from Applied Inspection Ltd, enrolled onto the apprenticeship after being promoted to General Manager in 2017 and has used it to further enhance his NDT career.
He said; “Without taking the apprenticeship route it would have taken 6 years to complete the same degree qualification. I’m now 2 years into the 3-year course and progressing in my respective career. It’s a really useful way of engaging staff by offering that continuing professional development, and a nice way to develop new skills as an individual too.”
Flexible learning
The NDT Engineer Degree Apprenticeship is delivered through the University of Northampton’s flexible online learning platform, with one-to-one support from a specialist Level 3 NDT Skills Training UK trainer assessor and NDT Level 3 Certification through a partnered accredited NDT Training school: IMechE Argyll Ruane, Lavender International, and the Southwest School of NDT.
Fantastic funding opportunities
SME Employers looking to enrol staff on to the programme starting in September 2021 can benefit from up to 95-100% funding for the programme in addition to a £3,000 financial incentive if the apprentice is new to the business, while Levy-paying employers can use unused levy pots to fund the programme.
Sam Cunningham, NDT Technical Sales & Account Manager at Skills Training UK, said; “Since the inception of the NDT Engineer Degree Apprenticeship, we have supported over 45 Apprentices, helping inspire new careers and secure more qualifications to ultimately create the next generation of NDT Engineers within automotive, aerospace, engineering, energy among other industries.
“We are delighted to be hosting this free event alongside our key delivery partners to demonstrate the positive impact this apprenticeship can have, both for employers looking to develop their teams and employees looking to take their NDT careers to the next level.”
